Adoptions and Related Policies
Through our TNR activities, Feral Fixers rescues many friendly adult cats and kittens young enough to be socialized. These cats & kittens are brought into our foster homes where they are socialized and introduced to the finer things associated with life indoors in preparation for adoption. All of our cats & kittens currently available for adoption can be seen below.
Adoptions are generally done from our foster homes or at our building in Lombard by appointment. We also regularly hold adoption events at our building in Lombard. Upcoming adoption events are posted on our Event Calendar. Before we arrange a private visit, please CLICK HERE to fill out our online Adoption Questionnaire which will be reviewed by our Adoption Coordinator who will contact you if you are approved.
You can also come to meet some of the adoptable cats below at one of our upcoming weekend Adoption Events! No application is required to attend these events and meet the cats in attendance, but we encourage you to apply online in advance to get pre-approved with the Adoption Questionnaire linked above. Only pre-approved adopters will be able to do a same day adoption at an event.
Single Kitten Policy
Our goal for the adoptable cats at Feral Fixers is to set them up for long, healthy well-socialized lives in their forever homes. Kittens are very social animals. They are generally born in litters and in our foster program, we try to keep litters together or house kittens with other similarly aged kittens to prevent single kitten syndrome. This is a real condition where kittens develop adverse behaviors like lack of bite inhibition, chewing and scratching objects, litter box issues or other destructive/detrimental behavioral problems due to boredom and stress. Even the most doting human parent cannot provide the same level of socialization around the clock that another feline friend can provide. Because of this, it is the policy of Feral Fixers to adopt kittens younger than 6 months in pairs (or more!) unless there is a known reason for the kitten to be adopted alone (i.e. medical condition or negative behaviors directed at other cats) or the adopter has a younger, energetic friendly resident cat already living in the home. An older resident cat is not ideal as the introduction of a kitten can be overly stressful for them at that stage of life. This policy is intended to ensure that the kittens we rescue, nurture, and love are adopted into and remain in homes that offer the best possible environment for their social development.
Thank You and We Look Forward to Meeting You!
Upcoming Adoption Events

August 8, 2026 - Feral Fixers Adoption Event! - Feral Fixers will be hosting an adoption event at the 330 Eisenhower Lane N Feral Fixers building in Lombard, IL, from 12pm to 3pm. Watch our social media pages throughout the week to see which cats will be attending the event this weekend. Most of our cats are in foster homes throughout DuPage County and we bring about 20 of them to the building for each adoption event so potential adopters can meet them and see if they are the purr-fect match! If you see a cat that you are interested in, but they won't be at the event, we can always schedule a private meet and greet! Check out our adoptable cats and kittens and fill out an application to be pre-approved by Friday August 7th at noon. Only pre-approved adopters can take home a kitten same day!
