Still Need Fosters and Volunteers
We have slowed down intake as much as we can, but we still have cats on hand. Cats don’t know about holidays! Many of our fosters need a much-deserved break and our volunteers need to take care of themselves and the people in their lives. It can take a bit of time to get new people in the groove but if you have assisted in the past and have the time in the next few weeks, check in with us to see if you can help again! Volunteers train volunteers, training new in-building volunteers will resume in January when cat volume on hand increases again. Please be patient with us if you have filled out a volunteer application and we haven’t gotten to you yet.

Corner Bakery Fundraiser
I visited Corner Bakery Warrenville on Saturday as a test flight. Hadn’t been to a Corner Bakery for a very long time – I’ve been missing out! Join us on Saturday, November 30, 2024, 7:30am-7:30pm, 28258 Diehl Rd, Warrenville, IL, US 60555 between 7:30am-7:30pm. I hope to attend around 1:30 in order to support Feral Fixers! Corner Bakery will donate 25% of your order to Feral Fixers! Breakfast, lunch OR dinner! If you are out shopping, tired of cooking? Would this be an easy location for your good Friendsgiving? A place to take the relatives who are still visiting? 25% is highly unusual in dining fundraising and we really appreciate Corner Bakery’s participation! Give yourself a break and support Feral Fixers! Please RSVP on our Facebook page!
Cats At Work Participant
Many organizations are working to employ feral cats to combat rat issues in residential and business neighborhoods. Similar to Feral Fixers’ Working Cats program, Tree House has a standout representative that has dispatched dozens of rats in a very short period of time.
Christmas Trees Are Coming
We’ve all seen those oh-so-cute pictures of the cats nestling in the Christmas Trees, and the pictures of mass destruction as the trees have hit the ground! To limit hazards in my own house, when we could not give up on a live tree, the only decoration were white lights, and the cats remembered when we had spritzed the tree with water to make it inhospitable. They still nestled underneath on the base cover, gently sniffing the branches above. Idyllic, right? But we were fearful all the time that we would come home to a very different picture! As you decorate for the coming holidays, here are some tips to consider for the safety of your felines.
Bear With Us
We are close to the end of November; we’re still working on neutering our fosters and have had a couple of situations where we could not say “no.” Doing our best to shut down ‘til the Spring as we are behind in all the other tasks that we need to take care of – fundraising, building improvements, self-care! We are doing the best we can, please bear with us! We hope to have sufficient volunteers and spay/neuter slots in the Spring to hit the ground running! What we’ve been doing:
- 11/12 – ADOPT – 10 friendlies, 6 female, 4 males.
- 11/12 – GEAH – 1 friendly male kitten that also had eye surgery to correct a third eyelid issue.
- 11/15 – ADOPT – 10 friendlies, 5 female, 5 males. 8 of these friendlies were just one litter. Litter sizes have been increasing, 6 – 8 is much more common, when we started so long ago, 4 kittens to a litter was the norm. Are the cats working against us?
- 11/18 – DCAS – 4 friendlies, 2 female, 2 male. Working away at the backlog, our thanks to DuPage County
Total: November to date 46, 2024 to date 831, since 2007 15,711.

Donate Newspaper in March
We have stopped TNR ‘til March. The response to our pleas for newspaper have been great! But now that we’ve got everyone in motion, we have to ask that our donors hold on 'til March when we resume trapping. With storage limitations we cannot continue to take the volume we’ve been getting. Hope you can resume dropping off with us in March!!!!
