Today, Feral Fixers brought five more cats to the PAWS-Chicago Spay/Neuter clinic to be fixed. All five of them were ferals.
Feral Fixers Board Member Kurt picked up the cats from Tammy's and brought them to PAWS (along with some other cats he had trapped and brought in for surgery - Thanks Kurt!) while I picked them up from PAWS and brought them back to Tammy's for recovery.
A friend of Feral Fixers was finally able to trap a feral cat she had been trying to get for some time and brought it down to PAWS this morning and, as a courtesy, I picked it up from PAWS and brought it back to Tammy's for recovery and then to be sent back to its caretaker. Poor cat - when they got him on the operating table, they found out he had already been neutered (but not micro-chipped or ear-tipped). The trapper said it took her two hours to get the cat from the drop trap into the regular trap - I guess he was trying to tell her that he really didn't need the trip!
With these five cats, Feral Fixers has now processed 51 cats for the month, 488 for the year and 2.969 overall.
