Over the past few days, Feral Fixers has made two more trips to the PAWS-Chicago Spay/Neuter clinic, bringing in cats to be fixed.

On Tuesday, we brought in 10 cats, all of them ferals. Super-volunteer Charli picked them up from Tammy's in the morning and brought them to PAWS (Thanks Charli!) while super-volunteer Dedra picked them up from PAWS in the afternoon and brought them back to Tammy's for recovery and distribution (Thanks Dedra!).

And today, we brought in 35 more cats to PAWS, 34 ferals and one 'friendly feral'. Super-volunteer Charli helped me pick them up from Tammy's and take them to PAWS (Thanks again Charli!) while super-volunteer Dedra helped me pick them up from PAWS in the afternoon and bring them back to Tammy's for recovery and distribution (Thanks again Dedra!). Of the 34 ferals brought in, there were 16 females (one already spayed, but not eartipped) and 18 males, so a pretty even mix. 20 of these ferals were from a new colony, 10 males and 10 females. And another new colony has just shown up in Elmhurst - it never seems to end!

And, of course, super-volunteer Judy was at Tammy's in the mornings and afternoons, helping out with everything to make it all work - Thanks Judy!

The 10 cats fixed on Tuesday plus the 34 fixed today brings us up to a March monthly total of 98, a yearly total of 137 and an overall total of 6,113. After a very slow start to the year, due solely to the extended winter, Feral Fixers is now in full TNR mode. We are only a few cats behind last year's pace and I have no doubt that "God willin' and the creek don't rise", Tammy will have us exceeding last year's numbers by the end of April.
