Sunday is a day we normally bring cats into the PAWS-Chicago Spay/Neuter clinic. However, we have had only one cat trapped and it is not worth the six hours it takes for transport (3 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the afternoon). This cat will go to a local vet to be fixed, even though it will cost us considerably more than it would at PAWS.

We need trappers! Our numbers of ferals are down this year, mainly because we don't have enough people to trap. If you are interested in helping us, please give us a call. We can provide the traps and the expertise and the hands-on assistance you may need. We have a place to bring the cats too and a place to recover them at, so your job can be limited to trapping-only if that's what you want to do. We have succeeded in bringing the number of feral cats brought into DuPage County Animal Care & Control by a full 50% and we can only improve this by keeping up the trapping. So, please, if you can trap cats, give us a call (630 881-3977) and let us know!

We need fosters! We have a couple of hoarding situations we're dealing with and we need temporary homes for these cats until we can get them permanently placed. Normally, we have to deal with friendlies on a small-number basis - 4-5-6 at a time. With these hoarding situations, however, we have over 70 cats we're trying to save, so if you're willing to foster a couple of cats on a temporary basis, please let us know!

And we need transporters! We need people to pick up cats from Tammy's and bring them to PAWS in the morning and we need people to pick up the cats from PAWS in the evening and bring them back to Tammy's in the evening. Right now, we're doing about 2 trips per week, but occasionally, only 1 trip per week. If we had more transporters, we could do 2-3 trips per week. This is important because then we can do them smaller numbers of cats that would normally have to wait extra days to be taken to PAWS. If you're willing to do transport, give us a call!

Our sincere thanks again go out to all of our volunteers, both old and new. With your help, we've processed well over 2,700 cats and, as I mentioned earlier, made a serious dent in the numbers of feral cats being brought into DuPage County Animal Care & Control.
