It was a beautiful fall day on Saturday, 10/21, for our adoption event at the Wheaton PetSmart. The store was celebrating Halloween by offering customers photos of their pets in Halloween costumes together with PetSmart's human mascot dog in costume. Our little kitten girl, Ruthie, took part in the festivities and had her photo taken on lap of PetSmart's human mascot dog. Very cute!

We had 22 beautiful kittens as the stars of our show (Ruthie, Oscar, Lucy, Ginger, Magenta, Periwinkle, Bear, Freckles, Pirate, Peter, Winnie, Anemone, Angela, Aviva, Trixie, Popcorn, Plexi, Plink, Bernadette, Becky, Lightening & Zuri). Everyone was very sweet and adorable.

While no one was adopted at the event, Alexander & Elmo, who were scheduled to come to the event, were adopted from their foster home immediately prior to the event by a great gal from Elgin. She was referred to us by her co-worker who previously adopted Laurianna.

We also received an application for Freckles and Bear at the event from a terrific couple in Glendale Heights. They have an older cat, who will enjoy watching the kittens, and a puppy, who will likely want to join in the fun! They were subsequently approved for adoption and picked up the kittens on Sunday, 10/22.

In addition, Empanada, Roman, Cerulean, and Rumaki were all adopted since our last event. Lucy, Ruthie and Pashmina are currently under consideration by other approved adopters who inquired on line, with adoptions likely to happen later this week. Great news for our babies!

After a very busy fall season of events, we are going to take a 3 week break until our next event. Hopefully we will get lots of on-line inquiries in between. Our next adoption event will be Sunday, 11/12, at the same PetSmart at 63 Rice Lake Square in Wheaton, from 11am-3pm. It will be the fourth and final PetSmart National Adoption Weekend of the year.
